Day 2. Ritual

Two friends perform their annual ritual. They gather the talismans, crystals, and herbs that will bring calm and protection to this small circle before they prepare to conjure the spirit of the young witch who went missing from their coven on this night, many years ago.

Day 3. Courtship

“Not again,” Rusalka muttered to herself. It seemed every time she fancied someone, they ended up drowned. Another 3 months of courting wasted as her garden of expired boyfriends grew ever larger. (In Slavic folklore, a Rusalka is the spirit of a woman who drowned, either accidentally or on purpose. She enchants unsuspecting men, luring them to their watery graves.)

Day 5. Death

“They say when you meet somebody that looks just like you, you die.”― P. Wish, The Doppelgänger.
Doppelgänger, or ‘double walker’, is not a twin with an independent identity–it is a duplicate of you. Seeing a double is considered an omen of death.

Day 4, 6 & 7. Solstice, Harvest, and Dance

A jolly dinner party between some Winter Solstice chums from all over the world: The Holly King & Oak King twins, a spirit of Yule, Gryla (the Christmas Witch), and Jólakötturinn (the Yule Cat). But if you know anything about Gryla, you might want to pass on that stew she prepared.
